In the setting of Borgata Margone, on the Graian Alps, the redevelopment of a street on Via Francigena’s ancient track becomes the cornerstone for the crossing of an alluring location. A quiet restoration, respectful of the hamlet’s atmosphere, started off with a preventive archaeological excavation.

The design’s simplicity creates a new path. The street twists and turns among the ancient stone houses, while discreetly integrating the setting. The use of local materials, the stone, the mountains, the story of a territory: these are the elements adding value to the landscape and the rural architectural heritage.
