Countryside technology
editA change of identity. The salvaging of a historical rural building outside the city, turned into an energy-efficient house.

This project is the perfect mix of conservation, energy efficiency and integrated design, in a prestigious historical, scenic and architectural context bordering the Po River Park, where nature dominates a thousand-year old hamlet.

Without altering the building’s outline, the project revolutionizes its inner spaces by adding a new wooden attic and modifying the front openings. Organizing the space on two levels and separating the living area from the sleeping area allowed to accurately monitor the whole building’s energy performance.
For this purpose, the project contemplated latest-generation geothermal systems, to guarantee the highest comfort in a high-end historical context in compliance with the ancient building’s architectural features.
